I gotta tell you, I'm very proud of my husband tonight. He effectively told the NRA to drop dead!

He's been a lifew time member for well over 25 years.. He owns a lot of guns, knows how to use them, and has taught our 2 sons safety and respect for the firearm.
Tonight, someone from the NRA called him trying to raise $$ to use against Obama. We've discussed a lot of politics and has agreed many times that Obama will never take his guns and that the NEA is totally nuts. Tonight he told them that! He told them to stop calling him, and that he was bvoting for Obama in November. I thanked him after the call and I sure hope there a lot more like him encountered by the NRA and their phone calls!

my husband has been a lifetime member since the 1980's and has no use for the political BS emanating from the NRA. He gets emails from them all the time and I send them to the junk file. He is not political, but votes Democratic, so no problem there.

There was a shooting at a So Cal Edison branch office last year (the one in Ontario I think) - and after finding out that people I know had close ties to the people involved, the NRA isn't getting a dime from me.

...as their policies have basically been very successful, court decisions have gone their way, etc, there is little for people to worry about as far as gun control, and very little reason for people to contribute to the NRA.

I think they have had to resort to bat-shit crazy conspiracy theories and bone-deep Obama hatred to keep the money rolling in.
