MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri shook up the Republican race for the White House by backing the relative underdog. Rick Santorum easily won the Minnesota and Colorado caucuses as well as the Missouri primary.

Santorum's win in Minnesota wasn't a huge surprise, as the most-recent polls showed him with a slim edge. But the final numbers show his supporters really turned out in their precincts and convinced their neighbors he's the best candidate.

His victory over Mitt Romney and the rest of the field in three states is turning-up the volume on his so far quiet campaign.

"You have found out, that on those issues, healthcare, the environment, cap and trade, Wall Street bailouts Mitt Romney has the same positions as Barack Obama and in fact would not be the best person to come up and fight for your voices for freedom in America," said Santorum.

I remember a time, back when the MN Repub party was moderate and sane, when none of these ignorant shitheels would have received more than 5% of the vote.

The Repiglican party is an open-air lunatic asylum.

He's what MN Repubs used to be - moderately conservative fiscally and moderately liberal on social issues. The Jebusoids hated Arne passionately, you will remember, and their feelings were reciprocated in full by Arne.

Back in '04 Carlson and former Repub Gov. Elmer L. Anderson both endorsed John Kerry. I think former Repub US Senator Dave Durenberger did as well.

I was being jocular about things being "bad" by missing Arne. I just find myself laughing about it sometimes.

They got hijacked by a pernicious combination of megachurch evangelicals and ultraconservative Catholics a long time ago, with considerable help from AM radio.

All the sane people have gone over to the DFL or Independence parties.

are former moderate Repubs. All the sane people were purged from the Repigs or left in disgust over the last ten years. Only the psychopaths and the religulously insane are left in the MN Repig party and these results prove it.

the other day. I told her these days he would be labeled a commie soshalist and thrown out of the Republican party, probably tarred and feathered or even lynched.

My parents would have named me Dwight "kestrel'ssurname" if I had been a boy. He was an honorable man who wanted a better America for everyone, not just the 1%. He warned about the military-industrial complex and was dead on. These days he'd be called liberal even by Democrats.
