The problem facing Republicans...

Barack Obama's record.

Even in the face of overwhelming Republican obstructionism, Obama has been able to move the economy in the opposite direction that Republicans handed off to him in 2008.

Republicans rang the doorbell then ran off as Obama was left to answer a door where the house was on fire.

Republicans want to pretend they have no responsibility for how this country nearly collapsed.

Not Gonna Happen.

Things may, can, and/or will get better before the election.

They have nothing to offer that's a better proposition because they don't intend to change anything to help the general public as opposed to helping their corporate underwriters. And they certainly don't want to be blamed for purposely trying to drive this country off the road in order to regain political power.

being cynical, sociopathic, anti-intellectual kleptocrats.

If they can fix that, they're sorted.

The Republicans got 70% of the nation to believe Saddam Hussein was behind the 9/11 attacks

Never under estimate the stupidity of Americans , it runs very very deep

I would agree the power of propaganda is persuasive but comparing personal experience of a condition, namely the 2nd Republican Great Depression, is more powerful than lies.

In fact, some of them praise their ill effects as if they work. Reaganomics as an ideology has two 24/7 networks (CNBC and Faux). When your whole party trumpets a system that's failed working people and no one's buying it, you would think they'd figure out how to say "no" to further promotion of that system. You can't blame Democrats forever.
