Morning Joe was all a glow this morning

Rick Santorum's number 1 fan, Joe Scarborogh, was really beaming this morning with the news that Rick won all 3 states last night. Joe spinned it as a big backlash against the Prop 8 decision. Joe says he and the right cannot understand judges could overturn the votes of 14 million people. Joe failed to mention that almost half of the votes were against prop 8. So the decision was one reason why many conservative came out and voted for Rick. Also, he said the conservatives were upset with Komen reversing their decison due to those lefty liberals politicalizing the charity. Then he said the conservative were outraged that the Obama administration was forcing the Catholic health care to provide birth control to women.

Morning Joe had about 8 other people on the set, and all this went unchallenged by them as Joe spewed his analysis he pulled from his butt.

Joe and his buddies failed to mention that turnout was way lower than 2008. If there was a backlash as Joe says, than why was the turnout a lot lower this year?

I'd take Imus back any day. To me, it's a pretty lame show, only slightly better than Fox and Friends.

I think that everyone else merely stayed out of his way, not that they agreed with him. When he gets in that kind of mood, watch out.

Go Santorum!

Seriously. Santorum will not stand up in a general election, and the odds are very long that he will secure the Republican nomination. But he can continue to damage Romney, and I like that. In fact, the overall spectacle of watching these morons skate off the right side of the stage is hilarious to me.

At this point, their pandering to the extreme elements of their base is damaging them with independents, has destroyed them with women, killed them with Latinos and other ethnic groups, isolated them from younger voters, and discomforted their corporate masters.

What's not to love?

When the game is out of hand, the announcers are talking about practically anything except what's happening on the field or the court. What'd you have for dinner last night? Have you seen so-and-so's car? Let's talk about the fans and pass along birthday wishes. What's coming up tomorrow or later this week? *Yawn*

But then the team that's hopelessly behind rallies, and we sort of have a game. Yippee! Let's talk about the action again. Until the rally runs out of steam, the dominant team puts the first string back in, and the game is over.

I don't doubt that Scarborough has his favorites, and Romney probably isn't one of them. But a stately march to the coronation isn't very exciting. Santorum's unlikely victories are just the tonic, and shush on those low turnout numbers. We've got the appearance of a contest, and that's all that matters.

What he doesn't mention most catholics, don't go to church, though they are obligated to every sunday.
The church is the one forcing their workers catholic and non catholic alike not to have a choice on contraception. Obama is not
making anyone take any form of birth control, just providing insurance for those who choose to use it. The choice to use it, is up to the individual and should not be denied to non catholics, atheists and skeptical catholics. Church has a lesser opinion of women, not allowing them to be priests so denying them health benefits isn't surprising. Even though 99% of women use contraception sometime in their lives, the church isn't sensative to their lives and needs.
Reversing the Komen decision was about womens' health issues, like breast and ovarian cancer and other health issues for the people who have no other source of medical care. Komen was the one who politized it, by looking to defund planned parenthood under false pretense of investigation.
Joe didn't mention as "itsrobert" said, that almost half the 14 million who voted were against prop 8 but more importantly basic rights exist regardless of being in the minority. The majority can not vote away someones basic rights; that is why we have the judiciary to protect the minority. The constitution says we all have equal rights individual or otherwise. All have the individual right to marry even if individuals are same gender and choose to do so.

Joe is looking to make an issue out of something catholics practice all the time contraception or birth control. Did he mention how many churches have closed in the last few years, how many priests are coming from India to replace the priests who left. How many american priests are under sixty. They recruit priests in poor countries, like they did here during depression, it was a good way to get good education and easy life.
