The animal, named 'Duecy', has been been given a clean bill of health by a vet, although the kitten will have to be hand-reared after being rejected by its mother.
Owner Stephanie Durkee is feeding Deucy using a syringe. She said she did a double take when she discovered the newborn.
"This morning the kids actually found them and came in and said, 'Mom there's a kitty with two heads', and I said I think you guys are just tired, you're crazy, that doesn't happen," she said.

(2,667 posts)It was a still birth, removed after prolonged labor by a Vet. We were out waiting when he came out and said we had to see this. The mother cat was fine and there the thing was, one head, eight legs, two tails.

(11,065 posts)AMITY, Ore -- A very rare two-faced kitten born in Amity, Ore. Tuesday morning died Thursday, her owners said.
"Deucy" was born with two faces, one body and an apparently healthy set of organs, veterinarians said. But she died Thursday from health complications.
Her owner, Stephanie Durkee, called KGW to say Deucy died peacfully in the morning.
Deucy was rejected by her mother, so Durkee had been feeding her every two hours with a syringe.
