Consumers Continue to Get Money Back (premium revenues on medical care)

Perhaps in time for summer vacation, Tennessee policyholders covered by Cigna and two UnitedHealthcare subsidiaries will again receive rebates this year, because the insurers did not spend the required part of the premium revenues on medical care. The healthcare law requires insurance companies to spend at least 80% of their premiums on care delivery, not overhead.

Added together, the insurers owe approximately $1.79 million, and the affected policyholders will each receive checks.
