My Criticisms Of Obama Tend To Be Constructive.

If I don't like a direction the Administration is taking, I figure out how to move it towards a direction I prefer.

Like with the NSA> go after the contractors and lack of oversight. That is useful and constructive and will do some good.

And I HAVE posted here about my problems with the NSA… if people want to comb over my posts for evidence. I am not going to bother.

An good example of my preference for constructive criticism would be in my journal from DU v.2. Then, my name was Cryingshame.

Back then I posted "who is a better pick than Giethner" rather than "Obama is a quisling if he picks XYX".

I've been here since DU v.1 and came here from Smirkingchimp.

When DU moved to DU v.3 I left for a very long time.

I came back just before the last POTUS election.

I may have been a member of some Obama subforum back on V.2 but haven't visited any subforum on V.3 ever.

It's bizarre having other DU'ers "accuse" me of being a member of some subforum I don't visit or participate in. It's like some weird leftist version of McCarthyism. Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of BOG?

1. Here's what I think about Obama at this point.

After what we have learned in the last two weeks, my speculation is even stronger.

I believe that Obama (or anyone who is president these days) has little control over the power of the office. I believe that the Intel PTB are running things and telling POTUS how it will be. General Alexander is more powerful than Obama at this point.

And who is Alexander's handler? Could be Cheney, still.

In any event, we are now realizing and trying to understand the magnitude of this intelligence era. As more info comes to light, more players are affected and the whole system heaves like a heavy sea.

Because I believe he's hamstrung, I have some sympathy for Obama. An oppositional Congress. An intel community usurping powers unilaterally.

The people themselves in solidarity are the only possible salvation.

and for the most part that's what you see here.

However there is a group that posts here and pretty much the ONLY time you see them is when there is bad news or a scandal then they can't post enough threads. And they tend to swarm whenever opposition is posted.

You NEVER see them when something good is going on or the president is doing well. ONLY when it's bad. It's like they take special pleasure in coming here and shitting all over him and anyone that supports him.

I'm not talking about the people that are here all the time and will give credit when do but definitely hold his feet to the fire, those people I enjoy reading, even if they frustrate me sometimes. Sometimes things need to be said.

But when I see people come here ONLY when it's bad then I'm sorry they're no better than the republicans. If you can't come and say good things too, then don't bother to show up and dance around when it's bad. That's bullshit as far as I'm concerned.

It can always be improved and criticism is part of a means to that end. Hopefully it creates the desire to change. Then you can get to the solution.

that is why people ask if you are part of some group or another. I myself asked if you were a conjoined twin as the 'mouse in your pocket' line seemed overused.
If you indulge in the use of the royal 'we' to add impact to your opinion, it follows that others will ask who it is you speak for other than yourself. To claim that is bizarre is silly. Two different posts I have seen you do this 'we do not blah, we simply say blah blah' routine. You are a singular person, speaking as if you were a plural group, then gasping in wonder that people ask what group you represent. Intellectually dishonest. You wanted to wallow in that 'we' and the price is that you will be asked for whom you speak. Duh. Are you really claiming this shocks you? 'We this and WE that'. What did you expect? Homage?

Act shocked if you wish, but if you speak as if you ARE part of a group people will think that you are.

and of course a Lefty. Depends on the issue and how mad someone gets at something I type. I think it strikes some people as strange that I might have individual opinions on individual issues.

A lot of people are running around playing accusatory games. We have a low burning META feel in DU that is always there and so is the tension between some regular posters.

DU3 GD has always been that way, just kinda disappeared for awhile when we had a META forum.

Know why I'm a member - I get sick of people not having the slightest bit of nose up in the air that we beat them "twice". Love or hate President Obama - we lodged a sucker punch at them after they stole two elections. We won it honest.

17. The pertinent question is: Do yu ONLY criticize Obama?
Sat Jun 22, 2013, 08:05 AM
Jun 2013

That is, do you ONLY criticize the ACA and refuse to admit there's ANYTHING good about it? You might be an anti-Obama person. Not a sharp critical thinker who is against "bad things," which is what some posters seem to think about themselves, while they slam this, then that, and never post anything positive about the guy.

Critical thinkers know that nothing is all good or all bad, and acknowledge that. Slammers point out only the bad and generalize it outward. Non-critical supporters only point out the good, and generalize it.
