A young Dick Cheney began his first campaign for the House in this tiny village population 1,600 after the states sole Congressional seat finally opened up. But nowadays, his daughter Liz does not seem inclined to wait patiently for such an opening.
Ms. Cheney, 46, is showing up everywhere in the state, from chicken dinners to cattle growers meetings, sometimes with her parents in tow. She has made it clear that she wants to run for the Senate seat now held by Michael B. Enzi, a soft-spoken Republican and onetime fly-fishing partner of her father.
But Ms. Cheneys move threatens to start a civil war within the states Republican establishment, despite the reverence many hold for her family.
Mr. Enzi, 69, says he is not ready to retire, and many Republicans say he has done nothing to deserve being turned out.

(11,464 posts)People should be reminded about Cheney
After all, if Jeb Bush is the nominee in 2016 for the repubs, nothing holds him back from picking one Richard Cheney as his VP
After all, the Bush family thinks they are perfect
and Dick Cheney hated W like the rest of the world, the last 3 years, but like Ross Perot who had a personal grudge against 41,
it does not extend to Jeb
Are we looking at a Bush/Cheney ticket for 2016 against Hillary? It is possible.
People should be reminded as often as possible.
And it would be great if the democratic party comes up with a great challenger if Liz defeats Mike.
Isn't there one great person in Wyoming? (BTW-Wyoming is one of the few states I predict can stay red in 2016 when Hillary gets 500 electoral votes, but if a democratic person can defeat Cheney in this race, maybe indeed it is possible to turn Wyoming blue.

Hillary will never be President. Never. Sorry.
