You would expect NOTHING less simply because its a FUX affiliate

On Friday, Bay Area Fox affiliate KTVU told viewers the purported names of the pilots on Asiana Flight 214.

The problem was that the names — "Sum Ting Wong," "Wi Tu Lo," "Ho Lee Fuk" and "Bang Ding Ow" — were obviously fake. The news anchor read the names off the teleprompter and didn't bat an eye, adding that the information had been confirmed by the National Transportation Safety Board. (Who did they talk to Rand Paul?)

The channel quickly apologized in a statement, saying later in the broadcast, "Earlier in the newscast we gave some names of pilots involved in the Asiana Airlines crash. These names were not accurate despite an NTSB official in Washington confirming them late this morning. We apologize for the error."

You cannot make this shit up, ever....

Someone help us, someone?

that is based in a notoriously-liberal area, who would've expected this out of KTVU?

This isn't Fox News, it's a local station where someone screwed up big time.

is a normally great local station that I watch regularly. They carry FOX entertainment shows like "The Simpsons", not FAUX News.

This incident it totally out of character for them.

And didn't bat an eye?

At least 20 years ago, they were doing a NY Mets post-game show on the radio (then WFAN) and doing their guess the winning score contest. The winner was Al Caholic. After announcing it for the third time, the announcer realized he'd been had. They played that in NY for years afterwards.

I've watched KTVU news, sports, and programming for years, and the station is the local Fox affiliate and also has Seinfeld and The Big Bang Theory. It used to be the San Francisco Giants flagship TV station too. I think SOMEONE is going to be shown the door tonight at KTVU; my speculation convinces me some young intern at the production department is still 13 years old in his mind.

Long history of excellent journalism, mega award winning station representing the Bay Area. Though the talent there isn't what it used to be (Dennis Richmond, Elaine Corral, Leslie Griffith, George Watson -Still alive and looking good!, Bob MacKenzie -RIP, probably one of the best storytellers of all time), they're still nowhere near anything resembling FOX 'News'.

at this point, allowing this to go out over the air, they have dissed themselves, I need do nothing but shake my head and wonder, Fox, of course, there's the answer, because if they were such a good station, a 12 yar old would have figured out Bang Ding Owe was fake.
