A photo of Trayvon Martin's face seems to indicate that he had been crying/screaming

before he was shot. Note that his mouth was open & there appears to be a lot of congestion in his nose.

There's a video posted below the photo of some of the first-arrived police officer's testimony. Several photos that were shown to the jury were included in the video but not that one. I hope the jury sees it.

2. I really am not sure that I can put this delicately

but, dying is messy and stuff usually oozes from at least one orifice.

Mouths tend to be open gasping for air....there is a reason that the dying breaths are called "agonal respirations".

I've been a nurse for over 20 years and have seen patients die--worked a lot with trauma patients and this is not that unusual.

7. true, i remember that woman who was shot and killed in iran a few years ago during the protests

in just seconds blood started coming out of her mouth , nose etc. it happened so fast i wasn't even sure how it happened at first.

although her mouth was not open the way trayvon's was.

8. Trayvon had been lying there for a bit of time when these pictures were taken

when we have people die in the hospital, one of the things that we have to do is roll up a washcloth and put it under the chin to keep the mouth from gaping open so that when rigor mortis sets in, the mouth will be in a closed position to make it easier for the funeral home to prepare the body for viewing.
