(8,155 posts)The opposition has hijacked the term and we unfortunately have become too afraid to use it because we want to look good. F-that. The best way to defeat such tactics is to reclaim the word or phrase in question.

(48,121 posts)What is wrong with the term pro-abortion? If you don't see abortion as a bad thing then why not be pro-for-it?
Maybe the reason is how we see people seeing the issue. Somewhere deep inside we don't want to be seen something pro that is considered a negative, but if we feel that way are we not caving in to that belief?
If it is just a simple medical procedure to remove a 'wart' (so to speak) why not proudly adopt being 'pro' whatever? We get why the other side treats it different and adopts the terms they do, but since we don't feel the same why let them frame the debate?
