http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/07/13/bill-maher-tells-cornel-west-we-know-zimmerman-is-lying/Bill Maher and activist professor Cornel West squared off with their conservative panelmates on Friday on Real Time regarding the second-degree murder trial of George Zimmerman in Florida.
Of the four, Maher and West believed Zimmerman should be found guilty. West also praised the closing argument by Assistant District Attorney John Guy.
He put it well, West said. Stand Your Ground is a law that Floridas responsible for that allows citizens to carry weapons. But if [Zimmerman] had stayed in his car, brother Trayvon would still be alive.
But its a matter of law, conservative columnist Matt Lewis countered.

Or perhaps it's one of those quantum things, prof West is simultaneous both under and not under the bus?

(13,141 posts)It's toward the end when he is enumerating all the
ways he claims Trayvon was hurting him. Banging
on the concrete so he thought his head would
explode, then smothering and suffocating with
his hands, and ...
He remembers another one...
"oh yeah, and I thought he had a weapon in
his hand.." (not exact quote).
An afterthought, added into the story
from his mental checklist of what he needed to say
in order to claim self defense. Rehearsed, practiced,
as if somebody had helped him get a story together.
my impression.
It seemed way more obvious to me on this viewing
and I hope the jury notices it.

(31,706 posts)...are the six jurors. I could care less what anyone else thinks...other than to add it to the mass amount of speculation that has become a cottage industry of this trial. None of those people were privy to all the evidence and testimony the jurors are...nor hold law degrees. Just more circle jerking...
