The latter was said to keep a copy of the US Constitution handy everywhere she went so she could educate laggards and hecklers. I also adored Shirley Chisolm, but she wasn't from Texas.

We really need their voices now, and not just when it comes to womens' rights. Those wonderful ladies had the ability to cut to the core of any issue and bring clarity and common sense to any discussion or debate. The fact that we still miss them means their legacy lives on.

They are right wing Obama-hating neocons whose ugly rhetoric compelled me to request they stop sending me those awful e-mails. Sadly, that seems to have closed the lines of communication, because apparently that's all they had to say to me. Awfully glad my Texas-born Mom left there when she was young and raised me elsewhere.

So yes, here's to Texas women who do "get it" and are willing to stand up to the Republican men who would diminish and denigrate them. Stay strong and do not back down from the fight!

God, I miss Molly!

Blessings.

Worked hard all my life as a single mom. Experienced a lot of lean time but never went asked for I am now reedy to retire.

I have tried to work within the system and voted DEM and liberal. I have come to the realization that the last democrat I voted for on a state level that had any balls was Ann Richards.

I am ready to retire now and have decided that I am getting the hell out of my beloved state. I'm tired of fighting and want a little peace. I will leave the fighting to the younger, with my blessings and best wishes. The state can do without my talent, money, and gender.
