Is my back of the envelope analysis of the State of Florida v Zimmerman flawed?

I will stipulate that everything is the same but the races of the perp and victim.

White perp-white victim= Immediate arrest/pro forma conviction
Black perp-black victim=Immediate arrest/pro forma conviction
Black perp-white victim=Immediate arrest/pro forma conviction
White perp-black victim=Delayed arrest/??????

1. I think a black shooter would have been arrested promptly.

Conviction, at least for 2d murder or higher, is not so clear.

No amount of racial bias in any direction would make it easier to overcome the fact that the person left alive gets to put out their story of what happened with little hard evidence to the contrary.

2. In Washington state less than 2 years ago similar case

Race of shooter was black person shot white.

You will find the black man walked. Reason was self defense.

Situation was a ground and pound with shooting from the bottom.

3. One instance in two years. I believe there was a roughly similar incident in Florida.

I would need to see more than isolated incidents to conclude that race is of no moment in our criminal justice system.

Shot a car of black teens up because he claimed he was scare deb cause the were yelling at him from their car.

He flees the scene after killing one kid. He is arrested and sits in jail now and most likely will be convicted.

This is a bad case for anything outside of profiling because if it comes down to self defense then the state prob will lose the case

This does not mean Zimmerman did not do the right thing or was not morally wrong just that the date has not proven its charge.

11. This happened after Trayvon Martin was killed. The kids were playing their car stereo

too loudly according to the man who shot at them. The shooter told the kids to turn in down (and in no friendly way). The kids more or less said, "FU"

The shooter then opened fire and killed one of the kids. He's claiming self-defense because he was in fear for his life.

Shooter - white; victims - black.

There was no possible basis for not arresting the shooter, and there were several eye witnesses.

All us states recognize castle doctrine and almost all have extended it beyond the home so in effect almost all states have SYG laws


But in FL

9. I'm not certain but I believe an African American man successfully asserted Stand Your Ground

where the decedent was caucasian. I also believe that is extremely rare.

10. Gun violence is almost always intra race

Most black males shoot are shot by other black males.

Most shootings are intrarace not surprising because most non drug/gang shootings are domestic in nature.

This case is a brown on black shooting but not gang/drug related at all. Also TM was not an unintended victim or caught in the crossfire. This is a rare case.

Even in lots of home invasion self defense shootings its usually still same race on same race.

As integrated as we are as a society we still live worship and socialize very segregated.
