So the conventional wisdom is the longer they stay out the worse it is for Zimmerman

Am I right?

If the jury does hang, this case was a dry run for the state, and they would presumably do much better next time.

I'm hoping for manslaughter.

I think they'd do a much better job on a 2nd run.

Ever since the OJ trial that nowadays juries do NOT come out real quick with a 'guilty' verdict.

They said that since the jury went into deliberations on Friday that they'd probably wait until at least Monday to announce a verdict - due to 'optics' not because if they've reached a verdict or not.

They talked about one case where the jury said they decided on a guilty verdict on a Friday but waited till Monday to tell everyone.

That's all I know

So the six jurors are just sitting in a jury room, having decided the case, and are just talking about their jobs, kids, and hobbies.

They called in the trainer cause they needed a good laugh to break up the tension. Trainer now says he is going into stand your ground comedy. He meant stand up comedy and the jury just fell off their chairs.

It is that juries are unpredictable to say the least.

They could have made up their minds first vote as soon as they walked in, and are just stalling to look like they did due diligence.

They could have agreed to not take a vote until they have reviewed each piece of evidence and testimony and discussed it among themselves.

They could be deadlocked.

You just never know.

But if it is a hung jury, I seriously doubt the state files again. However, I do believe a hung jury leave Zimmerman open to civil litigation from his family.

Traditionally the longer they take, the better it is for the defense because it means that someone on there has a reasonable doubt. Quick verdicts are typically guilty verdicts (not always, but usually).

They could be going over evidence piece by piece to make sure they have considered everything.
There could be a huge division.
There could be one hold out one way or the other.

It's all speculation.
