What's the defense's explanation for Zimmerman being behind the houses instead of on the street? (Original Post) Nine Jul 2013 OP

That street sign apparently had legs, and was very elusive.

too bad Trayvon wasn't as able to escape Mr. Zimm's detection as that street sign.

If he hadn't followed Trayvon, none of this would have happened.

Zimmerman disobeyed his direct instructions.

They just pretended it wasn't an issue. Pretty much like all the evidence against him.

Although he had "patrolled" those streets obsessively for years. Hes well documented in many, many police logs as to knowing all three streets well. Of course, this is the same defense that would have you believe that "he's running" "he's getting away" "I don't know where is kid is" and "don't meet me where I'm at now, have them call me when I get here and I'll let them know where I'm at then" are all indications that he WASN'T chasing a kid.

(FTR, I paraphrased the last quote"

You can hear z calmly talking to the 911 operator, then he says " oh shit! He's running".
Then you hear huffing and puffing and a lot. Of footsteps.

911 operator asks "are you following him?". Zimmerman says yes.
Operator says you dont need to do that, but the huffing and puffing and lots of footsteps continues
For the rest of the conversation. Zimmermans voice is no longer calm.
He has gotten mad at this point because he cant keep up with the kid and likely has his gun out.

Because he had his flashlight in his other hand, and felt the need to take his gun out.

Couldn't wait to kill someone, but too high to read the street signs imo.
