and lawyers need to fight about what exactly should be read. That's my guess. This is not a verdict.

Sah-wheat!!!!!!

Sad that likely means they discounted Murder 2, but better than an automatic acquittal.

One's the lesser charge included in the other.

They're roughly equivalent. You can't get two murder convictions for one murder. One dead body, one death, one conviction for causing the death.

it could be a discussion with the jurors on the 2nd degree vs manslaughter or the jury is working their way down, have decided it isn't 2nd degree murder and are now on to looking at manslaughter.

I'm hoping it is the first, that the debate is whether it is 2nd degree or manslaughter.

The good thing is it seems to indicate that the defense case re self-defense was not sold to the jury as a slam-dunk in any way.

Even if they don't Dahmer his fat ass, with the prison population being what it is, they'll make his life a living hell and he'll spend every moment in abject terror. Then he'll have a massive heart attack.

maybe they're trying to decide which one is more appropriate or if any of them is appropriate.
Still this doesn't look good for the defense - thankfully

certain the criteria is met vs acquitting him.

I'll freak out if they let him go. I don't live anywhere near him, but this "blow them away" attitude and claiming self defense has to stop. An acquittal will result in many more innocents dying, I fear.
