I had that figured out when I was still a kid. What does that even mean "greatest country on earth"?

Nationalism is stupid.

8. The whole "American Exceptionalism" thing just bothers me to no end!

So we're supposedly above the rule of law? Nothing applies to us? We don't have to follow the rules everyone else has to follow? We can never be held accountable and even our wrongdoing isn't really wrong - and simply because we say so? Because somehow we're better than the rest of you?

Sorry, maybe some will call me anti-American for this, but I think this attitude is just completely WRONG!!!! We are ONE OF MANY members of the community of nations. For the sake of our species and the well-being and survival of our whole planet (that, like it or not, we ALL have to share), I think we have to start thinking that way! I think we just have to. I think this "American Exceptionalism" crap is just that. What it is, in reality, is asserting our license to be a rogue nation. At least to me.

And then watch the same people whining and blithering and just not getting it - "WHY do they hate us?????" Could it be because of our arrogant, cavalier behavior spurred by our self-anointed superiority complex? Dammit, we're ALL IN THIS TOGETHER! There's no time, nor is there any room, for superiority complexes. They just don't help ANYTHING, except to aggravate animosity toward us, regardless how benevolent our motivations or intentions.

Spell check just told me "exceptionalism" isn't a word, but since I'm exceptional, English rules don't apply to me. We won't have a jury system on DU anymore, all queries about whether a post stays or goes will be directed to me from now on. Move over, Skinner, here I come!
