If it's what I think you're talking about, it's basically pointless semi-factoids being rolled out while we wait for the CGI rush of a dam exploding or a nuke plant going haywire or some other "EXTREEEEEEEME!" thing.

Mustn't let our extinction event stand in the way of our global domination!

Bwahahahahaha!!!

(I have to be irreverent, it's so distressing to see so much apathy.)

Every single one, from disease resistance to global warming, wars, mass extinctions, and on and on and on... You name it and our massive numbers figure prominently in the root cause.

As we run out of oil and gas and we will, there will be a brief global war, using up/destroying what little fossil fuels we have left, quickly followed by mass starvation. The survivors will slowly resort to living as the primitive cultures of hundreds of years ago once did, as our machines wear out and cannot be repaired or replaced. The lack of raw materials will prevent any advanced civilization from emerging. Our sun is setting on us, because our immense egos and arrogance are preventing us from seeing past our own current life style, to our own looming extinction. In the grand scheme of things, we are not all that special to be appointed the chosen ones.
The Earth will heal itself of a parasite and carry on without most of us.
