Just curious.

I currently live in Virginia btw, and lived most of my life in NY.

NYC is a city in the State of NY.

Because quite honestly, comparing a gubernatorial campaign in a southern state to a mayoral race in a blue state is strange. McCauliffe doesn't have a scandal swirling around him like the NYC mayoral campaign.

I think Wiener is an idiot, but if he wants to stay in the race, the the city decide.

However if you are are in Virginia then you know that this state isn't inclined to elect progressives. We worked our asses off to elect Tim Kaine. McCauliffe wasn't my first choice, but I'll gladly vote for him. Virginia is barely a purple state.

and I know basic geography. If you're happy with McAuliffe, good for you. My issue with him is not that he isn't progressive enough but that he oozes sleaze. I'm personally glad I don't have to hold my nose to vote for him.

It's just really nasty to those of us here in Virginia that are working hard to make sure Cuccinelli doesn't move into the Governors Mansion.

Posts like this are the kind of things that actually help to suppress voter turnout. If you don't care, then why the OP? It's really a crappy thing to do to people who actually are out there doing work in this state.

And I say this with respect, knowing basic geography is a lot different than understandinig the demographics of the state. We worked our asses off to deliver a senator with a (D) next to his name for the entire country.

and elections where voters may have to hold their noses.

Suppress voter turnout? Really? Come on. If I had so much power, this world would be a very different place. I have seen Virginians on this board comment about their meager choices.
