Six full time managers and probably fifty four part timers who worked under thirty hours a week, lost their jobs because their asshole CEO Threatened to cut hours because of the affordable care act. New York people shut this guy down because of his greed and his nasty political attitude.. Not to mention this guys pizza tastes like crap.
Beware chain restaurants who plan on doing the same to their employees, you are next. Being a nasty teabagger has consequences in our great Blue States
Sad that people lost their jobs. They had a CEO who let greed get in the way of doing business.
Most New Yorkers like real family and locally owned pizza shops anyway.

(9,267 posts)Sounds pretty shortsighted to me. Their loss. And their pizza sucks.

(16,399 posts)One franchisee decided to shut down those six locations overnight. I doubt Papa John's is happy about it.
By the way, the newest "competition" that supposedly shut down the John's in the story is a Dominos....which if you ever wanted shit pizza, is the best place to start.

(89,251 posts)i don't know why anyone in ny would go to papa johns. maybe they deliver in certain areas that others don't ? maybe it is cheaper and they have been CHEAP in many places i have seen. which is why the raising the cost of pizza was such crap. they could raise it that small amount and it would still be cheap compared to most other pizza places because people don't want to pay too much for it.

(10,168 posts)they treat their employees well. Some of my student depend on the $5 pizza for dinner quite often because of their budget. They have always offered benefits if I'm not mistaken.

(16,399 posts)Just reading the comments in that article, as an example....like because Little Caesar's politics is good, that makes their pizza good too?
I mentioned up thread Dominos as the worst pizza (and by the way, their owner is an anti-choice nutbag), but I forgot about Little Caesar's....so bad they got run out of town in my area until recently they came back and I've been told it still sucks. Good for them how they spend their money....but $5 for their pizza....well, there's a reason for that. It's awful.
If Papa John's were a big Democratic supporter no one here would be trashing their pizza, even if they ever ate a piece of it and hated it, and I suspect a lot of the people who hate them for their political stance have never tried a piece of it either.
I will boycott a place for a shitty political stand, but I won't patronize a place with a good political stance that serves shitty food.

(89,251 posts)but i find most indie pizza places are easily wayyyy better than any of these chains.

those who have money will go to better places which can be more expensive. cost isn't an issue for them.
