Teachers in Arkansas to Carry Concealed Handguns at School

This fall when students fill the halls of Clarksville High School in Arkansas, over 20 teachers, administrators, and employees will be packing concealed 9 mm handguns.

Administrators say the influx of arms will protect students from attacks like last year's tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut.

"We're not tying our money up in a guard 24/7 that we won't have to have unless something happens. We've got these people who are already hired and using them in other areas," Superintendent David Hopkins told the AP.

Yet, the Arkansas Education Association declared the development 'awful,' with Donna Morey— former president of the Arkansas Education Association—insisting, "We just think educators should be in the business of educating students, not carrying a weapon."

Or the teacher's will carry until it becomes "inconvenient".

The ones that realize it's "inconvenient" to carry all the time..... will give up the practice in no time.

And the ones who fantasize about becoming "George Zimmerman heroes" will continue to carry.

A very scary scenario!

Participating staff in Clarksville’s schools will be given a one-time $1,100 stipend to purchase a handgun and holster. The district will pay about $50,000 for ammunition and for training by Nighthawk Custom Training Academy, a private training facility in northwest Arkansas.

I would be scared from the minute I walked in the door in the morning - that is if I did walk in the door in the morning.
Wow - setting up a really scary situation where someone could be killed easily - wow.
