Question: Are there ANY standards for holding defendants awaiting trial???


It's something I've never really thought about before, but reading about what Bradley Manning and others have had to endure has me wondering. If a defendant is supposed to be presumed innocent, shouldn't the conditions of their detainment before and during a trial reflect this???
