Maher Attacks Times, Chris Matthews over Weiner/Spitzer

<snip>

On his Friday night HBO program “Real Time,” Bill Maher harshly criticized The New York Times and MSNBC “Hardball” host Chris Matthews for their denunciations of former New York Democratic Gov. Eliot Spitzer and former New York Democrat Rep. Anthony Weiner.

Maher first attacked the Times, noting that while it will make comparisons to these candidates past indiscretions and reality TV star Kim Kardashian’s life, the Times remains fascinated with those lifestyles.

...

''“My friend Chris Matthews, I like him a lot. I see him endlessly talking about how awful — he went on and on for a whole year about his book about John F. Kennedy. He loves Bill Clinton. Never stops kissing his ass. Those two guys did things way worse. I mean, Kennedy was so much more reckless. He was screwing the mafia mistress, East German spies, 19-year-old White House secretaries two at a time in the pool. Bill Clinton, Paula Jones and Kathleen Willey — true, you know, sexual harassment. There just seems to be no sort of consistency in the media.”"

Anthony Weiner - Canidate or Prophet?

<snip>

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) said on Tuesday that the Obama administration is "half-pregnant" with health insurers and pharmaceutical companies, which may jeopardize the success of reform.

The congressman -- who is a leading liberal voice in the healthcare reform debate -- said that rumored deals the White House has struck with big pharmaceutical companies and insurers may guide them to abandon key elements of reform, such as a public health insurance option.

"The Obama administration is trying to be, I don't know how to put it, half-pregnant with the insurance industry and the pharmaceutical companies," he told WNYC Radio today. "They're to some degree the source of our problem."

It is my observation that most who oppose Anthony Weiner are to the right of him on the issues.

Anyone who thinks as I do and would love to see a real progressive beat the corporate smear machine, stop talking and send 5 or 10 bucks to Anthony. Donation button iis on his website, I believe it is Anthony Weiner - Keys to the City".

Question - HOW MUCH WOULD YOU GIVE TO SEE OBAMA LIGHT UP THE HOUSE RETHUGS LIKE THIS?

THINK ABOUT IT - AND SEND THAT MUCH TO ANTHONY!

amazing that you have the nerve to push that asshole Weiner when you don't even know the major candidates.

Bill de Blasio is in in second place in the dem primary race. Yesterday he got endorsements from Harry Belafonte and Representative Yvette Clark. He has a lot of union support and progressive support. He's NYC's Public Advocate.

Vowing to “make New York City the single-payer laboratory in the country” if he is elected mayor, Anthony D. Weiner on Thursday presented an ambitious plan to create a Medicare-like system for the coverage of municipal workers, retirees and uninsured immigrant residents left out of the Affordable Care Act.

3. Two Separate Issues...
Wed Jul 31, 2013, 09:22 AM
Jul 2013

...First is Weiner's stupidity in letting his wrong head destroy his political career. It isn't the sex...and many were ready to forgive him had his sexting been a thing of the past as he claimed. Unfortunately he was caught in a lie for a second time...that's where people are turning away from him. He's lost all trust and credibility and without that it's all but impossible to govern.

Second is the media's fascination with the private lives and their hypocritical morality games. Tweety just can't leave this kind of crap alone...he has spent more time obsessing over Carlos Danger than about the NSA or Manning case or pretty much anything else. It's that bright shiny toy that always grabs the media's fascination cause they know it hits on one of the big hot buttons: sex. Yep, it sells as does race and why they get all wound up in these kind of stories like a bunch of middle school kids learning someone kissed someone...

...he let his personal life trump whatever management or political skills he had. A politicians greatest tool in trade is his/her credibility...above one's ideology. If people can't trust you it would have an adverse affect on his ability to build the coalitions he needs to be an effective mayor.

Cheers...

The Clinton years were the best of my life. And, Bill Clinton performed the wedding ceremony for Anthony and Huma.

And the same folks who brought us the "Arkansas project" to destroy Clinton are the ones who seek to destroy Weiner - and in doing so, seek to destroy US.

for Weiner....

<snip>

"The Republican Party is "a wholly owned subsidiary of the insurance industry," Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) charged on the House floor. When Republican Rep. Dan Lungren (Calif.) objected to the accusation and took the extraordinary step of asking that Weiner's "words be taken down," Weiner pushed back.

"You really don't want to go here, Mr. Lungren," Weiner said. Asking that words be taken down is a move on the House floor that is rarely made and carries great weight.

Weiner, after a pause, asked to have his words withdrawn and said he'd substitute new ones. "Make no mistake about it. Every single Republican I have ever met in my entire life is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the insurance industry," Weiner clarified.

Weiner scares 'em So badly politically, that "they" are willing to go to Any length to destroy him...I get that...and it seems as tho Weiner would rather discuss issues but the slovenly MSM will have None of that.
MSM are collectively nothing more than disgusting jackals in the middle of a fantasy feeding frenzy--what does it say about Us that we keep watching them do it?
I turn them off at the first mention of his name by them.
At the end of the day-"they" want Quinn to cont bloombergs policies, imo.
This is up to New Yorkers and the rest of us, including MSM ought to butt the hell Out!
f-'em...it's NOT News and Never will be no matter how much they try.
