Can the IOC change the 2014 Olympics to another venue from Russia? EXTREME WARNING ON THIS PHOTO

The violence towards the gay citizens in Russia is intolerable.

How is the International Olympic Committee going to protect us against this?

that seems like a no-brainer.
I don't know if the government actually controls the Olympic committee, but the USOC should stand up to this.

Those are bigoted thugs, something that the US is full of.

And regarding threats to arrest, the Russian law makes it illegal to publically promote gay rights, be that unfurling a rainbow flag in public or a public display of affection.

These ludicrous news stories make it sound like gay tourists and athletes are subject to fine or arrest just for " being gay" which is untrue.

Russia is a foreign country with laws and morality that freedom loving people don't like. But it's their right to govern themselves as they see fit. In fact many nations have a worse climate for gay people. In fact in a few years the World Cup is scheduled to be in Qatar where simply "being gay" gets you a 7 year prison sentence.

The 2008 Olympics were hosted by a terrible regime accused of widespread human rights violations.

IOC should pull out of Russia in 2014. Do it in a different country.
