You think cookies will make it better somehow? Seriously?

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) offered a plate of cookies Tuesday to a group of mostly female demonstrators protesting a new law he signed Monday restricting abortion access.

McCrory went outside the gates of the governor's mansion, cookies in hand, and pointed at protester Jamie Sohn. "'These are for you. God bless you, God bless you, God bless you,'" she quoted him as saying.

The protesters did not appreciate the gesture. They returned the chocolate chip cookies to the gate with a sign that read, "Will take women's health over cookies!"

I mean, this is Sarah Palin-level bullshit. At least he's ticking off indies and many moderate GOPers -- ONE TERM!

at least a little bit

just like rain (and hatred) make everything worse - at least a little bit.

Which is better

A - really bad situation
or
B - the same really bad situation AND cookies

I like AND better.

I was just trying to figure out how condescending bullsh*t gets into a cookie. Do they sell that in bulk at Whole Foods?

Are you offended that your humor fell flat, or what?

I know that when things are tense in the Middle East, Palestine often sends a basket of freshly made cookies over to Israel.

Or when Kim Jong Un is in mid-bluster, nothing says: "The world takes you seriously and we are ready to sit down in conference with you." like some macadamia white chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven.

make cookies, not war

not sure about the macadamia part though. Including coconut in a cookie might actually START a war.

Or at least a food fight.

But I find them to be much less offensive than many other things.

Cookies don't make evil policy any less evil, but they don't add to the evil either. It's a far better response to a protest than tear gas and water cannons. Or a middle finger.

Condescending? It's a cookie, not a pacifier.

I love hot white macadamia cookies right out of the oven, when they slump over your fingers like one of Dali's clocks.

I like womens' rights better though.
