NYC needs a public advocate, not a Weiner. Why Bill de Blasio should be next mayor of NYC.

After ten years of Michael Bloomberg it's time for someone who fights for New York City's middle class and not just for its financial industry and business interests.
Many have thought of Weiner as the one progressive who could take on the mantle of change and finally start fighting for the every day person, but as we've seen he is to busy flashing his genitals at random women on the internet.
So why have we not discussed Bill de Blasio? Afterall this man who is a Public Advocate.
Let's take a look at his background:
As a member of New York City Council he:
*Fought for NYCS gay community by passing multiple laws protecting gays, lesbians and transgenders and ensuring that they would have equal protections as heterosexual couples
*Fought for lower/middle class individuals by passing legislation to prevent landlords from discriminating against people who received federal vouchers
*Fought to protect those with health issues by improving housing services for low income New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDs.
*Fought for immigrants by passing the Benefits Translation for Immigrants Law, which helped non-English speakers access free language assistance services when accessing government programs.
As Public Advocate he:
*Fought for children and students by speaking against an MTA proposal to eliminate free MetroCards for students and three months later voiced opposition to a Mayoral budget containing more than $34 million in cuts to childcare services
*Fought for teachers by organizing parents and communities against cuts and organizing a-call a thon against the cuts. Bloomberg was going to cut 4,500 teaching jobs, ultimately his plan failed and restored funding.
*Fought for the every day person by creating NYC's Worst Landlords Watchlist to track landlords who failed to repair dangerous living conditions.

And the best of all? Bill de Blasio is a vocal critic of Citizens United who believes corporations should not be allowed to buy elections.
This is a man who fights for the people and has a record to back it up. He's not a Bloomberg clone like Quinn, an unpredictable lose cannon like Weiner, or a boring, safe establishment figure like Thompson. He is a progressive fighter and we should support him in his race to be the next mayor of NYC.
