Acquitted Florida shooter George Zimmerman was stopped for speeding in Texas over the weekend but got off with a warning, TMZ reports, after informing police that he had a gun in his glove compartment and was headed "nowhere in particular." Be careful, Texas.

I've been pulled over a couple of times for speeding during my lifetime, got a warning once, got a ticket the second time.
Depends upon the cop, some are hardasses, some are more lenient.

I've found for the most part be nice and you'll drive on without the wallet being lightened.

Most times speed stops are used as pc to stop and check the driver out not to write the ticket. In most jurisdictions officers have a lot of discretion on dealing with stuff like speeding etc.

14. Seven times out of ten, a CHL .....

... (concealed hadgun license) is a "get out of a speeding ticket" in Texas, as long as you weren't too flagrant about it. You are required to show your CHL along with your DL when you are asked for ID while carrying. (Though usually the cop already knows you possess one before he walks up to your window.)

The cops (I know quite a few personally) see a person with a CHL as "one of the good guys."

Though most carriers are obvious when you get to the door by having hands in plain sight and actually telling you before they dig around for licence registration etc.
