People like to complain about the IRS. From start to finish it took them 1 and a half weeks. Even though it was late and I requested a paper check instead of direct deposit.
I guess I do have it easy though since I'm a single broke college student. Filing the 1040 online only took maybe 30 minutes in total.
Still though, considering how many returns the IRS processes, the system works remarkably well.
Thumbs up to the Internal Revenue Service. You have my filing and I have a little cash in my pocket for school books.
Edited because I just realized it was actually only 1 and half weeks!

(45,558 posts)I have to say I never had a problem with the IRS that wasn't resolved in a timely and air manner.
The two times I had a problem was when the Client mislead me.

I have impeccable handwriting, printing and filled out all but the signature on his EZ return.
Even if it had been computer generated like today, I believe the employee was determined to switch the names around.
3 months after filing and a trip to the local IRS office and hours wait we had it straightened out and never a problem since.

(15,682 posts)Do you have the link where you filled yours out? (Were you able to send it via internet or did you have to print and mail?) This will be her first time filing and she will get money back. But she keeps putting it off.
