class a way to get the white birth rate to rise? Because people with less economic security around the world have more kids. When fundamentalists of any kind want to implement something, control of womens golden hoohaas are usually the reason. Why would market fundamentalists be any different.

(111,282 posts)Take away education and opportunities for women and the birth rate shoots right up since women who are told they're fit only to be baby makers will often do just that.
Personally, I often wish I were less melanin deprived. The progression of this country toward a country full of mostly brown people is a good one. I have an Irish hide that blisters within 20 minutes in midday sun.

(61,935 posts)This is classical Marxism. Capitalism is a competitive class system, not cooperative. This means that capitalists are always engaged in a game of king of the mountain with one another. For example Sam Walton was once just another store owner in competition with other store owners. Over time he won and the others lost. Their penalty was that they no longer got to be bourgeoisie (i.e. business owners) they ended up being working class. Capitalism always has a large body of business owners holding on by their fingernails as their competitors try to put them under and make them join the working class. This goes on, the rich get richer, and eventually you have very few people with all the wealth and everyone else trying to make money by providing them with labor.
Now on to your question:
If anything, the downward pressure of wages of the middle class leads to lower birthrates among the upper middle class (and that would include a lot of white people) because it creates an environment where individuals are highly encouraged to husband their resources in such a manner that the wage declines do not infringe on quality of life. So while stories of families with 7 children being supported by a single wage earner who was then able to send all the kids to college are told about the past, today we have couples with two incomes deciding to have one child and saving up to sent that kid to the best school they can possibly afford. They know that having 7 kids would financially break them.
With the lower middle class it's tougher to determine the effect because as income drops the option of shifting increasing amounts of the "cost" of reproduction to the social safety net appears. But then again not everything is done according to plan.

It's also why they hate gay 'propaganda,' which is, in their eyes, anything that shows gay people in a positive light. They think straight people are going to 'turn' gay if people aren't allowed to persecute us.
