(113,065 posts)and the complexities in the immediate explanations afterwards. However - the RW media machine likes to IGNORE the fact that the protests of the film started BEFORE the attack. The attackers gained cover through those violent protests of that film that were spreading quickly around the region. When the RW declares that film was a made up issue, then ask them to say how many US embassies and consulates were also seeing violent protests throughout that week and how many other people died during those protests of that film? Did they really expect that any State Dept should have ignored the wildfire spreading out of control all over that region and the world, just because the RW machine needed to placate their anti-Islam base who agreed with the film?

If you see a loofah or a falafel just remain calm and politely excuse yourself. You don't want to know what he does with those. I'm not quite clear on what he does with those, but I think it involves unwanted rubbing and baths.

(488 posts)It doesn't excuse bad decision making in Benghazi, but it keeps things in proper perspective. Benghazi is no more a scandal than Lebanon. If you go by body count, Lebanon was worse.
Shankapotomus
(4,840 posts)and thinks he was a great president. So I think Steve could gain some big points tonight if he point blank asked Laura what her final estimation of Reagan was and then quickly pivot to the similarities between the Libya and Lebanon attacks. In other words, she can't be allowed to hold the contradictory views that Reagan is still a saint after Lebanon while Obama is shoe gum after Benghazi.

(65,408 posts)logs every time someone is watching a channel/show. Then, just as with polls, by some statistical formula, they extrapolate these numbers to estimate how many televisions are tuned in to a given show over a specific span (surely you have heard of "ratings week" .
The only other method used to measure ratings is for people in the selected homes to keep a viewing diary to self-record the shows they are watching.
If yours is not one of the selected homes with a ratings meter or logging viewing habits in a viewing diary, then no one is counting whether you are tuning in to a show or not.
Advertisers pay more for ads on shows with high ratings, but you won't alter their ratings unless your TV is metered by the Nielsen company.

(30,481 posts)Your demeanor, preparation, and wit are excellent. You are a great person for our side to have in this type of venue. You bring a different side to the issues than they normally have and you do it in a very well thought out manner. I am sure you are at least able to get some of their more reasonable audience members to think a little out of their comfort zone. Keep it up.
