In olden days, the second son might be named Jiro, and the 3rd son might be named Saburo ("Number Two Son" and "Number Three Son&quot

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praenomen
"A few names, such as Prima, Secunda, Tertia, and Quarta, occur regularly amongst women, although the corresponding masculine forms were rarely, if ever, used for boys. Paulla (often spelled Polla) is also especially common, although the masculine name Paullus was uncommon as a praenomen."

(Actually some of the common male names were Quintus, Sextus, Septimus, Octavius, Nonus, Decimus...)

Asshole and Big Asshole.

Although Shaq has done a great job improving his image after retirement. Kobe, he will likely be a bigger asshole in retirement.

and his last name is Lee.

So at the very least, the headline should have read either "Dong-Gook earns double victory" or "Lee earns double victory."

The headline reads “Lee Earns Double Victory” now, but wasn’t fixed before someone took a screen-grab and spread it over the internet.

Oh...hey, wouldn't it be funny if this was done by the person who replaced the person who got fired for the Jeremy Lin headline "Chink In the Armor"?

Sports journalism is a field dominated by former jocks and college athletes.

Also Bristol, CT is filled to the brim with morons. I say that as a former elementary school student of Bristol Public Schools.

That "Chink in the Armor" wasn't on purpose. The fact that that guy got fired is ridiculous.

Political correctness is becoming like McCarthyism.

I'd have fired Federico for that reason alone.

But, then again, I don't believe him for one minute.

Nice how he went to being a Christian so quickly trying to save his sorry ass, got to love that tactic.

you can't use "chink in the armor." He needs to work on expanding his repertoire.

He wasn't fired for being a racist, he was fired for making a massively bad editorial decision that potentially cost ESPN huge amounts of goodwill with key audiences in the U.S. and Asia.

I argued as much on this board. But after seeing Federico's response, I'm not so sure. Unfortunate mistakes are common in journalism and it seems that this guy is anything but prejudiced. I'm starting to think he might have gotten a raw deal.

My fave of all time: Dick Trickle. He single-handedly boosted ESPN's coverage of NASCAR during his career. No matter how he did, they would always announce the results.

When I lived in Oregon, the Portland sports news loved it whenever Oregon played Oregon State because they could say "The Ducks pounded the Beavers today!" on prime-time TV and nobody complained.
