And if it was in his possesion legally.

The search of his truck should have been standard procedure , after the call his wife placed.

These are two mutually exclusive outcomes.

Last I checked punching someone in the nose is assault and battery.

Like you said, it's assault.
Right now I don't believe he punched anyone.

But fire officials who responded to the scene “checked everyone physically” and found that “no one had any visible marks or needed any treatment,” according to Hudson.

I'm wondering if he went to the hospital afterwards to get checked out, if not, then I'm going to have to believe that there was no punch to the nose.

GZ had physical and visible evidence that he had been punched in the nose from Trayvon trying to defend himself from that nut GZ, here, Shellie's dad had no evidence that he had been punched in the nose.

I've treated enough punched noses, broken or otherwise, to know that there is almost always physical or visible evidence of injury.

Whatever happened, right now it's a she said, he said situation, hopefully the surveillance tape will shed more light on this.

That's a crime right there. If someone puts down their IPAD, IPHONE, SMARTPHONE, et cetera and I smash it and they call the police and I"m going to be charged with malicious mischief.

Here's the controlling statute in Florida:

From multiple sources the fog has rolled in.
CNN did manage to get helicopter shots which is about as deep level reporting CNN is capable of doing.
From what I glean in passing reference all are uncertain:

George has a bodyguard that may have been with him?
George is living at his father in laws residence?
The altercation happened in the home not at the door?
Someone was moving out not clear whom?
George's wife has moved out George stayed?
The wife called her attorney?
O'Mara George's attorney also arrived at the scene?
George's gun was confiscated and returned?
The pistol was not the same one that killed Trayvon?
Charges may still be filed?

As tired as people may be of Mr. Zimmerman he is not yet incarcerated and without one to one supervision is dangerous.

I doubt they are going to do anything to him about domestic abuse, assault and destruction of someone's property. It's a damn shame this guy was not convicted, because he is going to keep right on doing whatever he damn well pleases and probably kill another person again.

Lake Mary Police are now calling into question several statPosted: 10:05 PM

LAKE MARY, Fla - Lake Mary Police are now questioning the validity of several statements Shellie Zimmerman made when she told 911 dispatchers her estranged husband, George Zimmerman, threatened her and her father at gunpoint Monday afternoon.

***snip***

We did not find a gun, did not locate a weapon," said Zach Hudson, public information officer with the Lake Mary Police Department. "Nobody ever saw a gun. A gun is not part of this story."

***snip***

Hudson told ABC Action News Shellie provided a written statement Monday night saying she never saw a gun and only assumed her estranged husband was carrying a weapon because he touched his stomach.

***snip***

According to authorities, Shellie's father did not have any visible injuries.

***snip***

And while no charges have been filed, police say that could change at any minute.
