Thursday, Sept. 12 is Ben Wheeler's birthday

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a friend and co-worker of David Wheeler, whose son Ben was killed with 19 of his classmates and 6 educators in Sandy Hook, on December 14, 2012. Ben would have been seven years old on Sept. 12.

Since the tragedy, the lighthouse--beloved by Ben during his short life--has become a symbol of hope, faith, and solidarity for those of us near and far who've been touched by this tragedy.

David and Francine have asked me to get the word out through my limited channels: please, place a single candle in a window of your home on Thursday, in remembrance of Ben. And, more importantly, for hope for the future, for a better world.

You can read more about Ben and the Lighthouse Project here:

Please, DU friends, keep this kicked.

Thanks, and peace to you all.

I'm amazed by David Wheeler's strength, and the strength of all the parents in the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy.
