Heartbreaking portraits of Vietnamese children suffering from devastating effects of toxic herbicide

Generation Orange: Heartbreaking portraits of Vietnamese children suffering from devastating effects of toxic herbicide sprayed by US Army 40 years ago

Deformed: Nguyen and Hung Vuong Pham, 14, and 15, await their daily bathing in the Kim Dong district of Hai Phong, Vietnam. Their days are occupied watching people pass by the front area of their home

Lost generation: Third generation Agent Orange victim Nguyen Pham, 11, deaf, blind and cannot speak has been bed ridden for a great portion of his life

Perpetual suffering: Former Viet Cong soldier and father, stands behind his son Nguyen Van Dung, 12, at home in the Kim Dong district of Hai Phong, Vietnam. Nguyen is tied by the hands because he compulsively tears at his own face

Daily torment: Nguyen Quang, 11, on his bed at home in the Kim Dong district of Hai Phong. Village leaders believe most of the children to be third generation Agent Orange victims due to the commonality in mental disorders and physical deformities

***international norms? hmmmph.

Editing to remove foot from mouth. Misread that entirely as a "We don't do that any more." cop out.

Too many out there claim that the United States doesn't poison innocent people any more. IT NEVER FUCKING STOPPED. It just called all those contorted and deformed bodies unintended consequences, buried the statistics, and criminalised truth telling.

What the US does is worse than a regime which deliberately uses chemical weapons for effect. it indiscriminately uses weapons which leave aerosolised heavy metal residues with mutagenic side effects.

It uses incendiary devices as anti-personel weapons against civilian populations. IN CONTRAVENTION OF INTERNATIONAL TREATY.

It deliberately targets children. Also in contravention of international treaty.

And it does these things, not because it desires these results, but because these results are simply incidental side effects of the tools they use toward a desired end.

Thanks for posting xchrom. When I returned from SEA, one of the first things I did was get a vasectomy. It took another 12 years before I was diagnosed with cancer.
