. . . until it came out that that his sexting continued even after he resigned from Congress. I'm not a moralist, and I was willing to forgive a colossally stupid laspse in judgment -- once. But I'm not willing to forgive the kind of rank stupidity by which he allowed himself to get caught up in the scandal a second time.

But ultimately, I thank Weiner, because without his self-immolation, I might not have taken the closer look at the other candidates that they deserved. I'm voting for de Blasio, and am quite happy to do so.
