Who cares?

Who cares rather or not the original plans involved bombing Syria?

I think people are missing some very important points. Firstly, we have a President who didn't immediately warm up the jets. Secondly, we have a President who is ostensibly willing to defer to Congress on matters of engaging in warfare when national security is not directly at stake. Thirdly, Putin blinked.

If you don't think these were all rather important artifacts of this particular saber rattling, well, then you must be suffering from the same "memory hole" that the far right-wingers seem to experience concerning the previous administration.

If you don't think that President Romney would've committed us to a 3rd full scale war, then you need to go back an re-familiarize yourself with the Bush Doctrine, PNAC, and just how much power the military-industrial complex wields these days.
