They wrapped this debate around a Christian Idea and they suck gullible women into believing they are doing god's work.

Then they hit them with this Scripture "Lean not unto your own understanding"

That one Scripture will automatically turn off the thought process of a believer and they will go along with anything. I got hit with that scripture when I told a Christian Friend of mine that I don't believe it's right for the Gov to regulate a women's body. And if she is debating an Abortion or not Uncle Same should stay out if.

Her response, "Lean not unto your own understanding Heather!"

I decided I like my understanding just fine and it was she who should consider leaning.
I don't speak to her very much anymore

Get started teaching values that serve people rather than serve the dogmas of some mythical overlord, that is.

I'm a Buddhist in the Nichiren tradition, whose writings spell out clearly and repeatedly that men and women are equally capable and respectworthy, and that any philosophy that denies the potential and the rights of ANYONE is hazardous.

Religions --and even more so, the false sages who use religion for power--don't own morality!

female impersonators.

Very sad.

The men are just power mad assholes. That's sad, too, but when victims jump in to help abusers, that's the worst.

So says a man who loves his children, grandchildren, and great-granchildren.

but I dare say it isn't an accident that it was Emmit Till and not Emmita Till whose death became a historical matter. It was the sexuality of the black male that was feared way more than that of the black female by the makers and enforcers of those laws.

and they didn't regulate a man's body the way those assholes are trying to regulate and control women.

They were feelgood laws, enacted to make religious nuts feel righteous but unenforceable.

Raping women with hard plastic dildos is quite a bit different and you know it.

tell that to Lawrence or Hardwick to name two. It should be noted that many, many, many a gay military man went to prison under the supposedly unenforceable sodomy statutes.

AND it's completely different so they don't count as laws intended to regulate a man's body. Raping women with hard plastic dildos isn't what sodomy laws were targeting and you know it.

See, I personally would have gone another way with this, where I would have admitted that the laws were also awful and moved on with my argument rather than trying to highlight one groups suffering by denigrating another groups suffering... but that's just me.

I had to tell my wife that I couldn't smell her and asked if she ever stood in a line and had that "unclean" feeling the pitchman was talking about?

She about beat me on the head and stated in a loud voice, "NO"

I think the ad men have been at the heart of the entire matter.

Don't get me wrong, women have every right to do as they will with their bodies, but drawing these bullshit exclusionary lines is just alienating your allies.

Oh, and I just remembered, they chopped off a piece of my genitals before I was old enough to give consent. That was kind of a dick move, pardon the pun.
