If she doesn't have one, there's probably a website for the court/courthouse where she's supposed to go, and their status and/or contact numbers should be available.

Those called for jury duty are still expected to show up. However, if the shutdown continues past the 15th, their payments might be delayed.

In the event of a government shutdown on October 1, 2013, the federal Judiciary will remain open for business for approximately 10 business days. On or around October 15, 2013, the Judiciary will reassess its situation and provide further guidance. All proceedings and deadlines remain in effect as scheduled, unless otherwise advised. Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) will remain in operation for the electronic filing of documents with courts.

My husband got called for federal grand jury..... 18 months a week each month. It was pretty tough logistics because he is only safe to drive near home.

I knew from reading you had similar issues which I guess is why I LOL. Gotta find whatever small blessings you can.
