Why would you want to send them somewhere nice anyway?

No, my suggestion for a destination would be Afghanistan or Somalia. If you still want to try to send them to Australia, make sure they haven't got visas, stick them on leaky fishing boats, and point them in the general direction of Australia and get them to pretend they're asylum seekers. The 'not one asylum seeker will set foot on these shores' rule will kick in and they'll be intercepted by Customs, who will send them to live out their lives in Papua New Guinea, who's capital incidentally comes in at #9 on the list of worst places in the world to visit, and is the only one on the list I've been to and can agree that it deserves a spot on the list.

It's out in the water and wouldn't provide a barrier to shipping and traveling. Plenty of people there would love to sell their houses and move out because 8 years of Jebbie pandering to his developer buddies have blocked off all the good beaches so there is no longer much of a reason to stay there. One of the big draws was always being within an hour of the beach wherever you were.

It's perfect for them: hot, humid, buggy, built in wingnut lege, overbuilt, on a major storm track (giving them lots of reasons to claim gawd spared them), and best of all, it's sinking.
