We is doomed - Rob Schneider has left the Dems to become a Republican

How will we ever get by without the legions of fans of the Stapler?

Bill Maher bragged how well California is doing thanks to a Democratic supermajority in the state government and a lack of tea party “nonsense,” but at least one other Hollywood celebrity does not agree. Rob Schneider, known for his SNL work as well as starring in movies like Deuce Bigalow: American Gigolo, said in an interview with PolitiChicks that he can no longer be a “lifelong Democrat” because the party has done so poorly for the state of California.

(...)

Schneider also said that he hasn’t made a movie in seven years “because we’re not being competitive,” and added that a vitamin company he co-owns had to be moved out ot California due to overregulation.

Schneider was flanked by Tim Donnelly in the interview, a Republican assemblyman in California running for governor, and actually endorsed Donnelly’s candidacy. He said he may disagree with people like Donnelly on social issues, but that shouldn’t be a dealbreaker.

and what is it with conservatism being so synonymous with has-been SNL-ers?

was because he sucks. He's not funny. His movies aren't funny and he only had a career because Adam Sandler obviously pitied him.

Rob seems to be assuming that he would have been a big film star if not for "evil democratic" regulations/influence. Never mind that none of these evil democratic regulations prevented some of his colleagues (Sandler) from doing very well in film post SNL at the same time Rob was failing.

He seems to be ignoring the obvious facts: being successful on SNL does not mean that one will be a film star (or even successful in film as a character actor for example). There have been many talented SNL members who never became very successful as film actors. It is of course exceptional that an actor from SNL have the extraordinary success of an Eddie Murphy or Adam Sandler or even Tina Fey, who doesn't do films really, but she has been brilliant with her film & tv writing career (and of course she is awesome on the small screen).

I think he should be counting his blessings that he's friends with a goofball who never grew up who's kind enough to put him in his awful flicks. If it weren't for Adam Sandler's tripe, I'm guessing he'd still be doing his "making copies" schtick in order to get free drinks. Hell, I'm guessing he does that anyway.

Dennis Miller at least had that smarmy smart-ass schtick of his. It got old pretty fast, but there was at least some comedic "there" there with him.

The only thing I remember of Jackson on SNL is her doing splits on the Weekend Update desk and being painfully unfunny...and being upstaged by a cat puppet (Toonces).

I honestly can't think of anything Schneider has done that I've seen him in, aside from his role in that Sandler movie about all the old friends getting together for a summer vacation or something. Wasn't he married to an old woman and that was the running joke? I hated the movie so it's not surprising I've tried to forget it.

Right before the 2012 election, the teabagger dj from 105.9 sunny in central fl had him on for an interview because he was in town at a local comedy club. He slammed Obama said he was voting Romney. Of course teabagger Rick Stacie was having a man crush love feast during the whole interview.

So the news he officially entered the realm of darkness doesn't surprise me one bit. It is a shame though he was funny too bad I'll never watch him again. Stupid people like that don't need my money.
