Something just occurred to me.

In April, Congress rolled back regulations prohibiting them from insider trading.

The stock markets are likely to falter tomorrow and continue to decline. I wouldn't put it past the Congress critters to be using this entire showdown to make a shit load of money.

I know I'm cynical, but I haven't really been given any reason to not always question their true intent.

Agree. They made insider trading legal for themselves. I am cynical too, Todd. nt Mnemosyne Oct 2013 #2

Personally, while serving as a member of Congress, I think there should be an SEC rule which bars members of Congress from actively trading during their tenure.
