RE: shutdown, Our worst enemy can be ourselves

I said in one post that, while a bit of unity of refreshing around here, in no way does this mean that we, as Democrats and/or leftists, forget the fact that Obama, and his DLC allies like Hillary, have gone way way way too far to the right. Yes, we can and will keep exerting pressure, especially since the GOP has just proven, in ways too strong to ignore, that bipartisanship is a fool's game. Obama seems to be beginning to realize what many were telling him since day one, only to be shouted down by the likes of Rahm Emmanuel, Ed Rendell and yes, Bill Clinton.

Let me be clear about this, so that they who would slap the Obama-bot label on me again cannot ignore this: we can, we should, and we must use this GOP foul up to drag what has become the center towards the left.

We MUST make it clear that the starting point for ANY serious discussion idea is on the left side of the center, and that thanks to abuses, there will be little or nothing offered as compromise, because the balance has been titled way too far to the right!

Yes, we need to bring up this SECOND ATTEMPT to destroy our Government anytime someone wants to extend any sort of Olive branch. Yes, if Obama, or Hillary, or Chris Matthews, give in to offer an olive branch, we need to take that branch out of their hand, and whack them in the head with it!

However, let us not forget our problem, we suck at messaging, and we still love to infight. Already, there are those that post on the internet that they hated Obama care anyway, as if letting the GOP tear it apart will lead to single payer. There are some that will want to sit out the 2014 elections, despite the fact sitting out 2010 helped these Tea party goons get elected.

Look, I have no interest in rehashing arguments about 2000 or 2010. If you sat out the vote then, or wrote in third party, you have your opinion, I mine, and we will never ever agree. However, I offer that 2014 is different, because this congress goes beyond even what the GOP wanted to do. If we do not stop the Tea party, we will be in for this again and again. If this group no longer cares about appearing competent because they know the Koches will keep signing checks, we are doomed, and no, that does not mean we get that glorious revolution we were promised, but we get a revolution of the right, which is to say we end up like the weimar republic did to the Nazis.

You folks who whine about low turnout speak of local issues that local Democrats should have addressed. They lost elections. We didn't. They did. Did you?

we did, but I adresses it to everyone as a whole. Florida has been riled up enough that the Democrats make a point of voting, like they did in 2012 for Obama. Our problem is that we have Rick Scott in, who got in because the Florida democratic polticians tend to be weaksauce.
