I love the format of this channel. Great music for hanging out in the backward. I love must of the DJ's, they answer the phone take requests and give away a lot of good stuff, really cool station. Except the morning guy, he is total idiot but sometimes he his funny.
Anyway this morning I'm listening and he does his news thing and starts on about how the shut down isn't that bad, So some of the national parks are closed. Go to the state parks or the beach. I'm in central florida. So he keeps on trying to sell the "shutdown" isn't that bad.
I was so mad I called told him this shutdown is a big deal for many people. This is not a slim down as some media outlets want you to believe. He was like well call your congress person. I said I did that and I went on to tell him that my family is one of those that is getting crushed. My husband is retired navy, so not vet check or retirement check and he also works for the dod so no paycheck. And this jerk Rick Stacie, is like oh it will all be over in a few days and you will get all your money then. And I am like no, we will only get the money from the va and navy retirement back his pay checks from the dod are different he doesn't get back pay as they were furloughed so it is unpaid leave. We can't afford that.
He asked who I was mad at about this I said our drunken orange speaker of the house and the tea party. So that leads him to go on about Obama-care and how it was bad. I told him the Affordable Care Act rocks, that's why their server crashed everyone wants it.
Then he had to go on the air so he put me on hold. He took to long so I hung up.
I hate to say it but I will no longer listen to 105.9 Sunny in the mornings so long as Rick Stacie keeps spewing his rush-lite agenda. I'll tune at 9am.
Anyway thanks for letting me vent.

Difficult to remain above politics and talk on the radio for a living.

Besides I've been listening to him for about 3 three years now. Many time he is funny (yeah even when poking fun at Obama). Sometimes he is just mean and not the mean radio people like to be you know shock jock just trying to get a rise for the show. But the mean hate crap that spews from teabaggers pie holes. When politics heats up he becomes more a right-wing noise maker then morning dj.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I do have a thick skin and get what you are saying but on this one, imho he went over the line and I will listen to something else from 5:30-9am.

(2,679 posts)but not as red as it used to be. On the state level we elected a dem and the gaps for rethug wins is closing. Two factors, more Hispanics and more old white people and their hate die and are not being replaced with enough young white people that hate.
Soon we will be purple and if the rethug party is some how able to survive well no matter this area would have turned blue. Time is on our side.

(43,182 posts)Back when I lived in Central Florida, 105.9 was alt rock. But I don't think that's the case anymore.
but our classic rock channel died 95.5 went talk radio about 2 years ago. WMMO is ok but the jockies are boring and sometimes so is the music. Now in the evenings and weekend 104 Real Radio stops the talk and plays classic rock. 101 WJRR still plays rock but they only talk about balls on your head and beer and play way to much creed.

(129,096 posts)as being the most egregious impact, is by design to minimize the fact that there are 14 Departments and nearly 30 "independent" (not under a Department) agencies that ARE being impacted but have no voice.

(23,156 posts)that you've been listening for a long time but no longer will.
I have a feeling that as more and more people get signed up to Obamacare, realization will sink in that it really is a good thing.
And keep in mind that this is ONLY the sign-up period. Wait until January 15 or so when all these new people can actually see a doctor.
I'm of course glossing over the fact that there will then be a huge medical provider shortage.
When I called, his producer answered the phone because he was still on air. I told the producer why I was calling and my intentions before he put the teabagger on.

(31,706 posts)...tell 'em how you'd love to buy whatever they sell but as long as they advertise on this clown's show, you just can't do it. Sound as sweet and polite as you can. Be assured as soon as you hang up the phone, the store manager will be on the phone to the station sales or general manager and it won't be a pleasant call....
