Anybody willing to start an "Occupy Congress" group here on DU?

The purpose would be to spur a national movement, with the goal of occupying the Capitol building until Congress funds the government. We already had bodies in the building yesterday. I am calling press in my hometown and going to start a vigil at the sight of the local OWS group in my hometown.

The clock is ticking. If Boehner doesn't cave by Oct. 17, we could have a credit default, which could spur a depression.

1. Most DU groups have sparse attendance. I think you'd be better

off doing this in GD. Take a look at message traffic in the Occupy Group, and a few others. Not much going on.

3. You probably intending to form a group, as in "collection of people"

whereas MineralMan took your question to mean literally having a DU group, as in a separate place on DU.
Like he said, probably best to just try and rally people here in GD.

I for one think it's a good idea, but I'm in Belgium so I couldn't physically join.

There's also the large demo being called by a wide coalition, against NSA spying. Let me see if I can find the thread.
