Just called my R Representative

Called him a Teabagger and lady answering the phone interrupted me and said that was "very offensive"! She said he is not taking his salary and will donate it to a charity if I want to suggest one. Think I will call back and suggest Planned Parenthood.

I was nice and told the lady who took my call that I urge Dr. Benishek to seriously consider voting for a clean spending bill with no strings attached so the government can get back to business.

The Teabaggers are the ones who came up with "teabagger."

But most amusing of all is the notion that calling Tea Partiers "teabaggers" is a horrendous, unforgivable slur. As Dave Weigel says, it's clear that Tea Partiers find it offensive now, so that's probably reason enough not to use it if you're interested in conversing with them. That's a big if, though.

Moreover, as Jay Nordlinger at National Review admits, the term "teabagger" was introduced to the political lexicon by Tea Party movement leaders...

If they're offended, so be it!

They could have conducted a 30-second Google search to discover the original definition of "teabagger" but I suppose that would have been "too intellectual."

...because he's allowing the small minority of 60 or so baggers to control him. As an enabler---he's a type of co-bagger.
They couldn't/wouldn't have any power without him and his ilk.

He's like the silent bystanders who allow bullies to do whatever they want. They are as lethal as the bully.

Congress critters don't take their own phone calls. So while that may have made you feel better. It will not help, and the representative will never hear it.

I have a Tea Party wack job as my 'representative' here in North Jersey. He survives courtesy of gerrymandering. This guy could care less what you think.

Even though they're right wing assholes we need to be polite when we call/email them so that our message is at least heard and not immediately dismissed by their staff.

beat our state's one and only representative in 2010. We went from the frying pan of a Blue Dog Dem Centrist who did her best to represent the entire state, a conservative one at that, and considered all state citizens to be her constituents no matter what, to the fire of a dipshit, uneducated, ignorant, hyperpartisan, dumbass, dumb-as-rocks, Sarah Palin-loving bagger bimbo who apparently only believes she represents those who agree with and voted for her and who WILL NOT LISTEN OR RESPOND to anyone who expresses the slightest disagreement on any subject. It is useless to even try to contact her office in any manner if you are not saying 100 percent what she wants to hear.

Even the state newspapers that (mostly reluctantly) endorsed her re-election in 2012 called her out on that, saying she needed to represent EVERYONE. But she and her crony bagger handlers could not care less. There is NO point in contacting her at all, she is actually proud of what is happening now. And why wouldn't she be? She still gets her fat paycheck and all the perks and benefits, including cadillac health care for LIFE, while she gleefully tries to prevent the rest of us from getting our own health care even though we pay for hers. And don't even get me started on the millions of farm subsidies her family farm has received over the past twenty years, again while she yammers about eeevil fed'rul gubmint irresponsible spending and the deficit, yaddayadda. In her vote in favor of the massive food stamp cuts, she yammered about "promoting dependency", when the farm subsidy program has done far more of that over the decades.

I realize the South Dakota Democratic Party wasn't too thrilled with Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, but what they failed to recognize, and STILL fail to recognize as was exemplified by their choice of a candidate to run against our own bagger bimbo last year, was that, in this state, the kind of liberal candidate they want will NOT NOT NOT win any statewide elections, period. Stephanie was walking a very fine line in representing the entire state, and I think she did the best she could. And she was certainly infinitely better than the bagger bimbo we have now, no question.

...with the patriots who, it needs to be reminded, destroyed valuable property of a corporation that was so well-connected that the act precipitated political sanctions by Parliament and a military crackdown.

And "Teabagger" is what they called themselves until they discovered that other meaning. Rewriting and whitewashing inconvenient history is very offensive too.
