It's the insane racist hatred for President Obama that is the root of this awful mess. when you have 40 Congressional Reps who don't recognize the President of the United States as President and are controlling a weak and cowardly Speaker, this is the result.
President Obama has tried to compromise with the Republicans in Congress for 5 years now. That in itself is nuts. There is no negotiating or compromising with these people.
Will they refuse to raise the debt ceiling, thus throwing the country into an even worse crisis and seriously damaging the U.S. and world economy? It's likely.
Racist hate. You can't negotiate with that.

(12,606 posts)There's no need to call it ODS when some here use the same term to vilify left leaning Dems and Progressives.

(12,606 posts)and left-leaning Democrats who happen to be critical of some of PBOs policies. Is it accurate that they should use that term as well?
For example, if I were to use the term OES Obama Engorgement Syndrome (and I have held off on using that for obvious reasons) for the blind fan-boy cheerleaders of our President, if accurate, would I or others be guilty of then applying it to somebody that thinks some of PBOs policies are good (and he has had some good policies) If I or others disagree?
There's no disagreement with me that The Teabillies (see GOPigs) are foul racists, sexists anti GLBT pro-corporate filth: intent on hurting America. Please call them on that without using a term that DUers use against other DUers.
The President will leave office at the end of his term, but the Teabillies (see GOPigs) will still be foul racists, sexists anti GLBT pro-corporate filth.

(114,904 posts)have criticized admin policies. I think you know I've gotten plenty of the "Obama hater" crap, but that doesn't mean it's not accurate or shouldn't be used appropriately- anymore than "Obama hater" shouldn't be used because that phrase gets thrown at DUers.

(12,606 posts)I agree with you. Btw its not sad that I agree with you, its cool agreeing. It's sad that what you said is so true. The racist hate is still allowed to be in places of power. I don't think the human race will ever be able to rid its self from the racist hate but it should never be allowed to rule.
The Crazy - when will that fad burn out? Its so pre-modern civilization, wait the dark ages just called and it wants it's ideology back.

(10,624 posts)Sure, racism is a part of it; both due to Obama's race and their "perceived" race of all the people new government programs would help. But they have disrespected and attempted to sabotage every Democratic President since Kennedy. They simply do not recognize the legitimacy of any Democratic President.
