16 Republicans

It only takes 16 Republicans to side with the Democrats in the House to get a simple majority vote. That's all we need to get past the shutdown. This is why this tactic by the Tea Party will fail. Each day that goes by will yield more Republicans who can't tolerate the shutdown scenario. They will break ranks and join with the Democrats to pass a clean CR.

Already several Republicans in the House are publicly stating a clean CR should get a vote.

There will be no compromise. This will be another Tea Party fail. You heard it here first.

...it takes 16 Republicans PLUS the Speaker, who controls what goes to the floor.

Pete King claimed yesterday to have 25 "responsible" Republicans in his corner; he ended up with only 2.

It will be at least a month for that to happen.

Grab some and be prepared for lots of ews and awes with plenty of drama

Right now, his policy is that only things that a majority of republicans support will come to the floor.
