About Head Start... {:o(
When I was a kid, we did not have a lot of money. My mom worked many hours to pay the bills. I went to Head Start. When I got to Kindergarten, I was well prepared for school. I knew my ABC's and Numbers. I could read things. It really was a head start on school. It made me smarter.
But also, it helped my mom. It was a safe place for me to be while she worked. It helped.
I am very sad that Head Start funding is being held up by the congressional republicans. I hope the President does not compromise. The Republicans are wrong on this issue. Some Republican is on TV right now whining about the WW2 memorial. It is an important part of our country's history. I get that. But what about the kids who will have their future enhanced by what they learn in Head Start?
I hope the President and Democrats stand strong. It really is time for Democrats to find their backbone.
Enough is enough. It is time for America to stand up to the tea party republicans.
