(37,305 posts)Since it's illegal to say you have been served with a national letter, a way around is to have a sign saying you have not received any letter then if you are served you take it down. Thus the community is notified but the site has not broken the law.

(34,845 posts)All that matters is the short-term advantage. What I posited is an inevitable use of the software. Just a couple days ago, that drug emporium -or whatever it was called- was shut down. Huge transfers of wealth from drug cartels and murder plots.
I have nothing wrong with making it difficult for the government to spy on us but that fear is, IMO, overblown and it needs to be kept in mind that criminal organizations LOVE stuff like this.
