The project is currently in private Alpha stage and BitTorrent is inviting the public to give it a try.

3. Bit torrent needs that negative info sign so they can notify us if they are compromised.

Since it's illegal to say you have been served with a national letter, a way around is to have a sign saying you have not received any letter then if you are served you take it down. Thus the community is notified but the site has not broken the law.

All that matters is the short-term advantage. What I posited is an inevitable use of the software. Just a couple days ago, that drug emporium -or whatever it was called- was shut down. Huge transfers of wealth from drug cartels and murder plots.

I have nothing wrong with making it difficult for the government to spy on us but that fear is, IMO, overblown and it needs to be kept in mind that criminal organizations LOVE stuff like this.
